Yala Peak Climb, a perfect way to start your adventure in and around Himalaya where beginners in mountaineering as well for veteran climbers can join in this beautiful adventure and Yala Peak Climb. Yala Peak one of the least technical lesser mountains stands above 5,732 m and 18,806 ft high, an adventure of two-week duration, the shortest peak climb in whole Himalaya range of mountains. Yala Peak Climb leads you within scenic Langtang valley enclosed within series of peaks located around Central and North Himalaya, the closest mountain range from the capital Kathmandu, where drive leads you towards the north at Langtang Himal within Rasuwa district. Entering into Langtang National Park, the first ever park established in Nepal mountainous area way back in 1976, enriched with flora and fauna and home to rare endangered Red Panda sometimes spotted on treks. The walk leads past traditional farm villages of Tamang people the hill people of Nepal Himalaya and more concentrated around Langtang Himal region with Buddhism religion and a similar culture to Tibetans across the border. As walk progress reaching into a wide scenic Langtang valley at Kyanjin, with rest days for acclimatization and exploring its high hills for best views of Langtang Himal range of peaks, from Kyajin heading deeper into the end of the valley at Yala Peak base camp. The climb of Yala peak graded as F means ‘Facial Easy’ a straight-forward climb of less technical effort as taken the grade from popular French-Swiss alpine climbing classification systems, however, climb needs adequate climbing gears for the safe and secure ascent on top Yala peak. After an exciting adventurous climb to the summit of Yala peak at 5,732 m and 18,806 ft high with mind-blowing panorama of peaks from Ghengis Liru (Langtang II 6,571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22, 699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh a ridge of peaks includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m or Ganjala peak with Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak, extends towards Jugal Himal and ending at Mt. Dorje Lakpa which is above 6,966 m high forming a massive mountainous wall and a frontier of Nepal and Tibet.  Return journey back to the road-head at Syabrubesi for an interesting drive to Kathmandu after an overwhelming adventure and experience on Yala Peak Climb.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,340 m via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour around world heritage sites.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Dhunche town 1,960 - 06 hrs.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,354 m - 06 hrs.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,295 m - 06 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin with Langtang valley at 3,749 m - 04 hrs.

Day 07: At Kyanjin rest to explore around and scenic hike.

Day 08: Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp 4,400 m / 14,435 ft - 05 hours.

Day 09: Climb of Yala Peak at above 5,732 Dm / 18,806 ft - 08 hrs back to base camp.

Day 10: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa - 05 hrs.

Day 11: Trek to Lama Hotel- 06 hrs.

Day 12: Trek to Syabrubesi village - 06 hrs.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

Day 14: In Kathmandu free day for individual activities.

Day 15: International departure for homeward bound.

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,340 m via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal International airport received by our Mountain Challenger staff and guides for short transfer and drive in the heart of Kathmandu city to your respective hotels. After checking into your rooms meet at briefing hall where our guide or leader will brief you regarding Yala Peak Climb around Langtang Himal. Include information of hotels, lodge and do’s and don’ts with group welcome dinner in a nice authentic Nepalese Restaurant with various Folk programs of Nepal as entertainment.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour around world heritage sites.

Morning after breakfast our city guide will take you for an interesting sightseeing tour in and around Kathmandu city, where Kathmandu valley steeped with ancient historical, religious monuments which is listed on world heritage sites. Tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square (old Malla and Shah Royal courtyard) with resident of virgin ‘Goddess Kumari’ and other places of great interest, from here heading to oldest landmark of Kathmandu and Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa, believed to be more than 2,600 years old a Buddhist dome shaped with all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. From here head back to the hotel with afternoon preparation for Yala Peak Climb with an early morning drive to Langtang area.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Dhunche town 1,960 - 06 hrs.

Morning taking a tourist coach or smaller vehicle as per group size for an overland drive that leads you away and beyond Kathmandu valley heading north west with views of snowcapped mountains. As drive continues on the hilly highway past farm villages and town then heading higher up into cooler region at Rasuwa district around Langtang Himal. As drive enters a large hill town at Dhunche where the air is much cooler which is the entry point of Langtang National Park, Dhunche the headquarter of Rasuwa district where drive leads  downhill on winding zig-zag road to reach at Syabrubesi village for a first overnight stop in the  hills and valley of Langtang Himal.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,354 m -06 hours.

After a fresh morning with mountain air, first day walk of the adventure starts on the gradual trail to cross a bridge over Bhote Kosi or upper Trisuli River, after the bridge climb leads to a ridge past scattered Tamang farm villages and terraces to enter into the cool alpine forest of tall rhododendron-hemlocks-oaks-magnolia and fir tree lines. Around this forested area where rare and endangered Red Panda habitats, which is seldom seen along the walk on to Lama Hotel for an overnight stop. Lama Hotel placed in a clearing surrounded within beautiful forests near a raging Upper Trisuli River.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,295 m - 06 hours.

From Lama Hotel onward walks lead into a gorge covered with dense thick forest offering views of Langtang Lirung along the walk to reach at Ghoretabela, located in the midst of green woodland, after a pleasant rest walk continues with short ups into a forest to reach at Langtang village for an overnight stop. Langtang village was badly destroyed in 2015 earthquakes, this village is slowly coming back to normal; here visit around Tamang farm houses enrich with old culture of Buddhism religion.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin 3,749 m - 04 hours.

Walk today leads to scenic Kyanjin, after a leisure breakfast short walk within beautiful Langtang valley, one of the highlight of Mt. Dorji Lakpa expedition. Walk starts with the short climb as the gorge opens into a wide scenic valley, where tree lines drops for short alpine bushes of azalea plants and juniper bushes with dramatic views of snow covered peaks. Slowly walk takes you at Kyanjin with an altitude of above 3,850 m high surrounded with views of high mountains. At Kyanjin with an overnight stop, afternoon time relax and catch magnificent views and explore its small Cheese factory, established and support of Swiss technical assistance.

Day 07: Rest day for local hike and acclimatization.

A free day to get acclimatize and hike to high hill viewpoint for wonderful panorama of mountain range from the top of Tsego Ri or Kyanjin Hill above 4,700 m high, rewards you facing peaks of Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22, 699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh a ridge of peaks includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m or Ganjala peak with Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak.  Stretches towards Jugal Himal to end at Mt. Dorje Lakpa above 6,966 m high forming a massive mountain wall and a frontier with Tibet.

Day 08: Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp 4,400 m / 14,435 ft - 06 hours.

From Kyanjin Gompa heading to our final goal and highlights of the adventure, walks leads on the rocky glacier and then with a steep climb into the icy trail to reach a flat camping area beneath Yala Peak to set our base camp at 4,400m. The camp offers super views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Yala peak and others peaks.

Day 09: Climb to Yala Summit 5,732 m / 18,806 ft and descend to base camp.

Our adventurous climb on top Yala Peak starts at early morning steep uphill to the summit depending on weather conditions also. The climb is of less technical effort but it takes about eight hours to reach the summit and back to base camp.  After a tough and scenic climb to its summit top at 5,732 meters / 18,806 feet, rewarded with super views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung and many other mountains on Tibet side, after a marvelous moment on top descend safely to base camp.

Day 10: Return to Kyanjin Gompa -05 hrs.

After a magnificent climb on top Yala Peak, and then leaving the base camp for return trek to Kyanjin Gompa following an icy path enjoying the views to reach Kyanjin Gompa for an overnight stop in the comfort of the nice cozy lodge.

Day 11: Trek to Lama Hotel - 06 hrs.

After a pleasant stop at Kyanjin and exciting climb of Yala peak, morning walk leads back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement situated in the middle of a dense green forest near upper Trisuli River.

Day 12: Trek back to Syabrubesi village - 06 hrs.

Our final day of the trek where morning walk leads on the same trail which gives you time to enjoy the views along the route, as the route leads downhill into cool shade of the forest, as walk leads through farm fields and nice tended terraces to reach at Syabrubesi for last overnight stop around beautiful Langtang region.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

After pleasant and interesting time on high hills and valley of Langtang Himal with last overnight around Tamang village in Syabrubesi, morning an interesting drive brings you back at Kathmandu on the same exciting highway where the interesting journey ends on reaching hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 14: Free and contingency day in Kathmandu and for individual activities.

A free and spare day in Kathmandu for individual activities enjoy the rest day with an optional exciting sightseeing tour around Kathmandu-Patan or Bhaktapur.

Day 15: International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal country of high mountains and varied colorful culture, as per your international flight time, our staff transfer you to the airport for final departure homeward bound with fabulous and unique memories and adventure on Yala Peak Climb and trekking.
