Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund Trekking where Mountain Challenger Treks & Expeditions guides will lead you towards beautiful country within high and scenic Central Himalaya with ever-present views of high snowcapped peaks of Langtang-Ganesh and Jugal Himal. Besides excellent views of mountains and beautiful landscapes walk leads you into nice cultural villages inhabited mostly by Tamang people the hill tribe of Langtang and other Himalaya range of Nepal with close traditional life and custom to Tibetans, across its close border of Nepal and Tibet. Interesting villages to explore interwoven with Tibetan Buddhism and colorful culture that makes this adventure even more interesting and worth visiting. Starting Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund trek with an overland journey from Kathmandu to reach high hills of Rasuwa district around Langtang Himal, and then walking towards our first scenic destination at Kyanjin within magnificent Langtang valley enclosed with series of peaks. Enjoying marvelous views at Langtang valley, where our second phase of the adventure leads towards high Gosainkund Lake, regarded as one of the holy sites where once a year the great religious festival takes place in the month of August pilgrims visits for a bath and a dip in the icy sacred pond at Gosainkund. After a visit with pleasant and interesting time at holy Gosainkund walks leads to our highest point of the adventure to cross over Gosainkund-la and East Laurabinaya pass at 4,609 / 15,100 ft high. Where along walk leads past enchanting woodland and nice villages with views of Langtang-Ganesh and Jugal Himal to reach a scenic Chisapani Hill. From here catching striking sunrise views over an array of peaks and then our last day completes on the outskirt of Kathmandu valley at Sundarijal, and then a short drive takes you back into hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu city, after great fabulous time and adventure on Langtang Valley-Holy Gosainkund Trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Dhunche town 1,960 - 06 hrs.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,354 m - 06 hrs.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,295 m - 06 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin with Langtang valley at 3,749 m - 04 hrs.

Day 07: At Kyanjin rest to explore around and scenic hike.

Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel- 06 hrs.

Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru village 2,118 m - 06 hrs.

Day 10: Trek to Singh Gompa 3,254 m / Chandanbari -05 hours.

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381 m -05 hrs.

Day 12: Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via high Gosainkund pass 4,609 m - 06 hrs.

Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m - 05 hrs.

Day 14: Trek to Chisapani Danda 2,195 m - 05 hours.

Day 15: Trek to Sundarijal 1,380m and drive to Kathmandu 4 hrs walks and an hour drive.

Day 16: International departure for home ward bound.

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu 1,340 m via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal International airport received by our Mountain Challenger staff and guides for short transfer and drive in the heart of Kathmandu city to your respective hotels. After checking into your rooms meet at briefing hall where our guide or leader will brief you regarding Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund trekking. Include information of hotels, lodge and do’s and don’ts with group welcome dinner in a nice authentic Nepalese Restaurant with various Folk programs of Nepal as entertainment.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour around world heritage sites.

Morning after breakfast our city guide will take you for an interesting sightseeing tour in and around Kathmandu city, where Kathmandu valley steeped with ancient historical, religious monuments which is listed on world heritage sites. Tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square (old Malla and Shah Royal courtyard) with resident of virgin ‘Goddess Kumari’ and other places of great interest, from here heading to oldest landmark of Kathmandu and Nepal at Swayambhunath Stupa, believed to be more than 2,600 years old a Buddhist dome shaped with all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. From here head back to hotel with free afternoon preparation for Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund treks.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Dhunche town 1,960 - 06 hrs.

Morning taking a tourist coach or smaller vehicle as per group size for overland drive that leads  you away and beyond Kathmandu valley heading north west with views of snowcapped mountains. As drive continues on hilly highway past farm villages and town then heading  higher up into cooler region at Rasuwa district around Langtang Himal. As drive enters a large hill town at Dhunche where air is much cooler which is the entry point of Langtang National Park, Dhunche the headquarter of Rasuwa district where drive leads downhill on winding zig-zag road to reach at Syabrubesi village for first overnight stop in the hills and valley of Langtang Himal.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,354 m -06 hours.

After fresh morning with mountain air, first day walk of the adventure starts on gradual trail to cross a bridge over Bhote Kosi or upper Trisuli River, after the bridge climb leads to a ridge past scattered Tamang farm villages and terraces to enter into cool alpine forest of tall rhododendron-hemlocks-oaks-magnolia and fir tree lines. Around this forested area where rare and endangered Red Panda habitats, which is seldom seen along the walk on to Lama Hotel for overnight stop. Lama Hotel placed in a clearing surrounded within beautiful forests near a raging Upper Trisuli River.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,295 m - 06 hours.

From Lama Hotel onward walks lead into a gorge covered with dense thick forest offering views of Langtang Lirung along the walk to reach at Ghoretabela, located in the midst of green woodland, after a pleasant rest walk continues with short ups into a forest to reach at Langtang village for overnight stop. Langtang village was badly destroyed in 2015 earthquakes, this village is slowly coming back to normal; here visit around Tamang farm houses enrich with old culture of Buddhism religion.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin 3,749 m - 04 hours.

Walk today leads to scenic Kyanjin, after a leisure breakfast short walk within beautiful Langtang valley, one of the highlight of Mt. Dorji Lakpa expedition. Walk starts with short climb as the gorge opens into a wide scenic valley, where tree lines drops for short alpine bushes of azalea plants and juniper bushes with dramatic views of snow covered peaks. Slowly walk takes you at Kyanjin with an altitude of above 3,850 m high surrounded with views of high mountains. At Kyanjin with overnight stop, afternoon time relax and catch magnificent views and explore its small Cheese factory, established and support of Swiss technical assistance.

Day 07: Rest day for local hike and acclimatization.

A free day to get acclimatize and hike to high hill viewpoint for wonderful panorama of mountain range from the top of Tsego Ri or Kyanjin Hill above 4,700 m high, rewards you facing peaks of Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6,571m / 21,560ft), Langtang Lirung (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum(6,918m / 22, 699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh a ridge of peaks includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m or Ganjala peak with Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak. Stretches towards Jugal Himal to end at Mt. Dorje Lakpa above 6,966 m high forming a massive mountain wall and a frontier with Tibet.

Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel - 06 hrs.

After a pleasant stop at Kyanjin, morning walk leads back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement situated in the middle of a dense green forest near upper Trisuli River. Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru village 2,118 m - 06 hrs. Morning walk leads on same trail for few hours on reaching a River side near a place called Bamboo where walk leads to a climb for some hours to reach a high spot and a ridge at Thulo Syabru village, an interesting Tamang village. Here with time to enjoy the views and explore this lovely village with an old monastery atop the village.

Day 10: Trek to Singh Gompa 3,254 m / Chandanbari -05 hours.

Morning walk leads to a climb on winding trail above the monastery where altitude gains with views of Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna range towards far west, after a few refreshing stops at teahouses on route, journey continues with an hour uphill from the farmlands and into cool alpine forest and then reaching at Sing Gompa for overnight stop near its old monastery.

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381 m -05 hrs.

Walk this morning offers excellent views of snow peaks from Langtang to Ganesh-Himal with Manaslu and Annapurna range, walk leads to gradual up for an hour entering oaks, pines and rhododendron forest, after a brief stops with grand views, walk con tinues on uphill trail leaving tree lines and green vegetation behind for dwarf rhododendron, juniper and alpine shrubs bushes. Where trail unwinds to more uphill past few teahouses around Laurabinaya, which means a place with walking sticks, (on auspicious month of August in full moon as per Nepalese Luna calendar, pilgrims visits Gosainkund pond for ritual bathe and dip belief is that it relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes) Hindu pilgrims leaves their walking stick here so the name as Laurabinaya. From here a short descend and then to reach Saraswati and Bhiarav-kund after a short climb brings you at Gosainkund near its holy pond. Here you can notice traces of pilgrimage.

Day 12: Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via high Gosainkund pass 4,609 m - 06 hrs.

From Gosainkund starting with a pleasant walk on a small path by the bank of Gosainkund pond, and then a slow climb leads to a creek in between rocks and boulders. Climbing up near to a small glacial pond called Surjakund, from here walk is more gradual with winding up reaching over Gosainkund pass or East Laurabina La, on the highest spot of the adventure above 4,609 m /15,209 ft high. On reaching our highlight of the adventure with amazing views, then a long descend leads to Phedi (base or bottom) at 3,694 m with few small teahouses. Here with possible lunch stop or for refreshing break, and then walk continues heading east near to Helambu areas and back into green forest and vegetations of junipers, rhododendron to reach at Ghopte for overnight stop. Ghopte Odar means a overhanging rocks, suitable shelter for porters and pilgrims visiting holy Gosainkund.

Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m - 05 hrs.

After being in the complete wilderness, from here our route joins Helambu and Kathmandu trail; morning walks on pleasant path into forest for an hour, and then a climb to Tharepati 3,597m. A nice spot located on a ridge offering views of Langtang & Jugal Himal range with Ganesh- Manaslu towards west. From here our route descends to Mangeghot, a nice place with grassy field with a Nepal Army Barrack or camp, from here walking into spread out farm fields to reach at Kutumsang village for overnight stop, a nice moderate size village with mixed hill tribe Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang people.

Day 14: Trek to Chisapani 2,195m via Gul Bhanjyang 2,125m - 07 hrs.

Today the longest day walk of the adventure to reach Chisapani, a scenic spot for sunrise and mountain views, morning walk leads to winding path with few ups and downhill passing farm areas and villages to reach at Gul-Bhanjyang located on a ridge top. After a refreshing break journey continues on pleasant trails reaching at Pati Bhanjayang village, from this village a short last climb to reach our last overnight stop of the trek at Chisapani, a nice small village close to Kathmandu Valley rim. A beautiful place for striking sunrise views over range of peaks from Langtang and Jugal Himal towards north east and with Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range towards further west.

Day 15: Walk to Sundarijal 1,380m and drive to Kathmandu.

Last day walk of our marvelous adventure leads into pristine forest and farmlands, after few hours of gradual walk reaching a ridge top of Burlang and Chepu Bhanjyang at 2,438 m high with views of Kathmandu Valley. From here descend to Sundarijal a lovely spot with cool forest monkeys are often seen a small farm town from here drive back to Kathmandu after an enjoyable and great moment on Langtang Himal & Gosainkund trekking, as drive leads past Jhorpati and Bouddhanath following the busy city road and then back to your hotel in Kathmandu. A free afternoon opportunity for sightseeing tour of few hours or relax with individual activities and shopping.

Day 16: International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal country of high mountains and varied colorful culture, as per your international flight time, our staff transfer you to airport for final departure homeward bound with fabulous and unique memories and adventure on Langtang Valley and Holy Gosainkund Trekking.
