Introduction:

Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking a short and scenic country walks on high hills within the shade of massive Annapurna Himalaya and visiting lovely farm villages and walking into an enchanting forest of tall rhododendron and pine tree lines. Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking we have set for interested people where one can catch fresh mountain air along with fabulous views of high snow-capped peaks. Starting with a short drive from scenic and beautiful Pokhara to reach at the end of the drive, and then the following the path through nice farm villages and terraces with a steep climb to reach Ghorepani village, inhabited by Poon people of Magar tribe where early morning hike takes you to highest and scenic Poon Hill. From Poon hill enjoy fantastic sunrise views over 360° wide panorama of Himalayan peaks that covers Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri’s with Annapurna range and Machhapuchare Himal the famous Fish Tail peaks extends towards Manaslu mountains. Enjoying marvelous views, the walk continues heading back at Pokhara taking a scenic route to Tadapani and large Gurung village of Ghandruk to reach beautiful Pokhara where Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking concludes.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: From Pokhara drive to Nayapul walk to Tirkhedhunga 1,440 m-05 hrs. 

Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani 2,860 m / 9,380 ft- 06 hrs. 

Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m and trek to Tadapani 2,635 m-05 hrs.

Day 04:  Trek to road head near Syali Bazaar via Ghandruk to reach Pokhara 860 m -05 hrs walks and 2 hrs drive.

Day 01: Drive to Bhirethati /Nayapul walk to Tirkhedhunga 1,440 m - 05 hrs.

After an overnight stop in Pokhara with views of Annapurna Himalaya and Machhapuchare Himal 'Fish Tail peak', morning on completing breakfast drive beyond Pokhara to commence our first day walks. The journey leads with views of Annapurna heading past farm villages and towns and then reaching at the bank of Modi River where walk leads to Bhirethati, one of the most impressive villages around the Annapurna area. From here the walk starts on old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade route heading past farm villages and with a slow climb to reach at Tirkhedhunga for overnight stop within beautiful waterfalls close to your lodge.  

Day 02: Trek to Ghorepani 2,860 m / 9,380 ft- 06 hrs.

Starting morning walk with steep climb on stone paved steps to reach large Ulleri village with views of Annapurna peaks, Ulleri an interesting farm village of mixed tribes Gurung and Magar, from here on slow winding gradual walks into cool serene woodland to reach our destination at Ghorepani, a scenic village with blue painted houses serving as lodge and guest houses, situated within green rhododendron forest as well on Old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade Route.

Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m and walk to Tadapani 2,635 m - 05 hrs.

Morning at the crack of dawn where hour climb takes you at scenic Poon Hill Located above 3,210 m, enjoy glorious sunrise views over the chain of Himalayan mountains includes Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu range with majestic Machhapuchare Himal. After a stunning panorama of mountains and catching sunrise views, descend back to lodge at Ghorepani for breakfast, and then continue to walk with a climb into cool rhododendron woodland facing marvelous mountain views to reach at a lonely and isolated spot at Tadapani with many good lodges to stay with grand views of Annapurna peaks.

Day 04:  Trek to road head near Syali Bazaar via Ghandruk to reach Pokhara 860 m -05 hrs walks and 2 hrs drive.

Morning with scenic views of Annapurna peaks walks into lovely cool forest and Downhill on leaving the woodland to reach at Ghandruk a large village populated by Gurung people, the hill tribe of Annapurna Himalaya. With possible lunch break continue to walk with long descend at the bottom of a hill within low warm farm areas, where a drive leads you back at Pokhara after great enjoyable time on Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trekking.
